Video: The Vaan Mission explained
As you probably know, at Vaan we don’t just want to make exciting luxury sailing yachts. We care about saving the planet as much as we care about sailing it. Here’s a short video explaining the Vaan Mission. #SAILTHEPLANET
RECYCLED ALUMINIUM FROM HYDRO
Vaan operations are based on the principles of the circular economy. We build our yachts mostly from recycled materials and a Vaan is almost completely recyclable itself. The hull, for example, is for more than 50% made of recycled aluminium such as old window panes, traffic signs, and number plates. Some parts of the cat even contain more than 75% reused materials. Vaan has entered into an exclusive agreement with the fully integrated aluminium company Hydro.
Post-consumer scrap aluminium ready for recycling by Hydro. The start of a new Vaan.

The first cut of the Vaan R4-01 occurred this week at www.snijtechniek-brabant.nl. The first post consumer scrap recycled aluminium sheet by www.hydro.com is cut using a CNC milling machine.
I hope other boat builders will take a close look at their products and business and start rejecting the stuff that is harmful. For every logical choice of the past, there is a new alternative that is in line with the future. Our common future that is. Let’s do this together. This isn’t rocket science. Let’s Sail the Planet.
We are happy to announce the Vaan R4 has been awarded the A’Design Award in the category Yacht Design! The R4 was voted on by a professional jury as one of only seven winners in this category of this prestigious global design award.
